Exercising Your Pekingese

A Short Order

Pekes are fairly low-energy dogs and don't necessarily need a large expanse to romp in. For this reason, they are quite suited for apartment living or for owners who prefer not to have to endure long hikes for their dogs' activity needs. But Pekingese dogs, as all dogs, still need a minimum amount of daily exercise in order to maintain physical and mental well-being.

Ideally, you should walk your Peke at a trot one or two blocks a couple of times a day. They're not greatly suited for endurance, so excessively long walks are not recommened, unless you can provide frequent breaks, as they can wear your dog down to fatigue and overburden his joints. As a rule of thumb, exercise for a Pekingese should be short and frequent.

Caring for your Pekingese at Home It's all too frustrating and worrying at times being unable to determine whether your dog is sick, how sick he or she is, and how to help. The much needed solution to this age old problem is an enormously handy book called Veterinary Secrets, created by a veterinarian for dog owners like us! In it, you'll learn all about the health concerns of dogs, and even how to diagnose and remedy them, many of which involve everyday household items. This is a great tool every dog owner should have handy to help us all stay on top of our little pals' well-being!
