Why do you think this forum is kinda dead?

I just feel so sad that there are no many people sharing about their experiences with Peke in this forum...I was just wondering if there is any other forum that talks about peke? Just curious. Don't worry, I will continue to participate here!

Many people come here, ask a question, we answer, and we never hear back from them -- not so much as a thanks or any indication of what happened (is their peke OK now?). How rude!

I have stumbled on other peke sites; in comparison, this one is a party!
I'll be sure to let you know if I find any others that don't need resuscitation, though.

I just found this international site -- pekingese.dogbreed.org but couldn't judge the level of activity without registering. So I filled in all the blanks on the online registration form and completed the registration. Finally, I got to the Forum page, and was at first impressed. Wow, those are a lot of threads! Then I realized they were for all different breeds. Finally my eyes fell upon the Pekingese thread and I clicked on it. Guess how many posts for Pekingese?

But one was from England and one from Germany -- wouldn't it be cool to have some European input here? I invited them to check this forum out, if they ever check back on that site to even see my post...

I started a thread today where I posted a link to a site I found that has a Peke message board. It seems more active there than it is here but as I mentioned in my thread I'll still support this site. Perhaps we can encourage the posters there to join here and vice versa. I like the fact that I was able to make a personal profile page for Milo. That was really cool.

That's how I found this board, by a post on Dogster. I've been a member there for a little while but the message boards specifically for Pekes is not that active. There are some Yahoo groups dedicated to Pekes too.

I think Pekingese are rather rare, at least pure bred Pekes are, so building a large membership is tough. When we go anywhere with our Pekes we're stopped by just about every 3rd person to ask about them. Either people wonder *what* they are (we've actually been asked many times if they are dogs) or they know the breed but have never seen a Peke in person.

I know what you mean about being stopped and asked what are they all the time. Most people will go "are those hairy pugs?"

The strangest question I get is "WHAT is that?" (like twin-pekes said, some people aren't even sure it's a dog).

BTW, great website, twin-pekes! I can hardly believe you found such gorgeous pekes from a rescue shelter and petfinder -- some of you guys just have all the luck. I really enjoyed reading on your website about all the fun they have. It is obvious they are very much loved and pampered!

p.s. I can't believe you actually got them to wear socks!

I always refer to my Sam and Daisy as 'the twins'...although Daisy's so dainty and Sam's a round doughboy..'lol'
